The 2010 Preliminary SAT (PSAT) will be administered on October 13, 2010.

This examination is an excellent opportunity for students to understand the requirements of the SAT, which is a critical reasoning exam used as a criteria in college admissions. Tenth grade students who participate in the October administration of the PSAT at their home high school receive a detailed Score Report Plus in December. The Score Report Plus provides students with a comprehensive skills’ analysis of their performance and gives them a code which provides access to a website with additional test information and an interactive career information program called My Roads. Please ensure that your tenth grade student is present on October 13, 2010, for this valuable learning opportunity.

PSAT and Juniors

Students who pay to take the PSAT as a junior are eligible to be considered for National Merit Scholarship. Confer with your student’s counselor in August about ordering the PSAT for your junior.

Home schooled students wishing to take the PSAT need to contact the Southern Regional Office of The College Board during late July or early August. The office will work to locate a PSAT testing site for your student and will assist you in ensuring that the test is ordered for your student. The office number is 770-225-4005.
