 Co-Teaching Additional Modules - Module 1

 Collaborative Planning and Differentiating Instruction

This module consists of content that will provide techniques to use in the co-taught classroom. When two teachers are both actively teaching there are co-planning components, roles to consider, and changes in grouping formats to be considered when differentiating instruction. All these are critical components that allow all students to have access to classroom content. A focus on student learning that allows more hands-on and interactive instruction benefits all students to gain access to content within the co-taught classroom.

Participant Goals:

Teachers will be able to:

  • Develop co-planning lessons with co-teachers to be delivered within the general education setting
  • Build team lessons and skills to be effective in the shared space as they co-teach
  • Group students into settings to maximize learning and interaction among students to enhance the learning process within the co-taught classroom
  • Develop lessons with differentiated instruction for co-taught classes
