Statement from Superintendent Kathy Cox Regarding GOSA's CRCT Analysis

State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox issued the following statement after the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) released their analysis of Spring 2009 CRCT results:  “The results of the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement CRCT Analysis make it clear that we have enough evidence to go the next step and do further investigations. I am very concerned about integrity of the data, test results, recognition and consequences that are all based on reliable results.”   “The vast majority of educators are highly ethical and deeply concerned with following the rules. Nobody is guilty at this point but if our investigations find that cheating has taken place, the State Board of Education and I will take swift action, just as we did this past summer. Cheating will not be tolerated! Ultimately, the ones who are hurt by cheating are the students.”    GOSA CRCT Report   http://www.gaosa.org/news.aspx?mode=detail&obj=1917
