July 31, 2014 -- State School Superintendent Dr. John Barge released the following statement today regarding Georgia’s Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) flexibility extension:

“This is wonderful news for Georgia’s students, educators, and parents,” said Superintendent Barge. “For the last couple of years we have been holding schools accountable and rewarding them for the work they do in all subjects and with all students. The College and Career Ready Performance Index gives parents and communities a clearer and more accurate picture of their schools’ effectiveness in educating our students.”
