Description of Duties:
Under the general supervision of the School Nutrition Accounting Manager, provides accounting-related clerical support for the School Nutrition Division that requires familiarity with basic accounting functions. Duties include, but are not limited to, verifying data, coding and posting/data entry of account information; preparing routine reconciliations; processing receipts and forms for travel reimbursement, car rentals, and leases; preparing requests for payments, entering budget and expense data in electronic spreadsheets, PeopleSoft Financials, and other systems; preparing and processing purchase orders and ordering office and recruitment supplies using the State Purchasing Card, when appropriate;  and assisting the Program Manager with the initiation of contracts; and monitoring and processing contracts for payment.  While most job duties are accounting-related, this position also regularly performs a limited number of routine clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting visitors, and typing correspondence in support of the School Nutrition Accounting Program.  A successful candidate for this position will be an individual who is reliable, very detail-orientated, and  comfortable multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.  
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and one year of experience performing accounting-related clerical tasks that included filing, posting, completing forms, and bookkeeping.  Note: A criminal background check and credit check will be conducted for the candidate selected for this position, as required for state purchasing card holders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
• Two or more years of experience with governmental accounting at the paraprofessional or professional level
• Experience preparing detailed accounting and budget reports
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) certification
Pay grade 9 – Annual salary range is typically $20,039.92 (minimum) to $35,061.61 (maximum).  Hiring salary range is $20,039.92 - $28,000.00, commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
