Description of Duties:
Identifies and works with at risk secondary students (potential high school drop-outs); assesses school and student needs; develops/coordinates appropriate interventions; works with staff, parents, and the community; manages and analyzes/disaggregates student test data; enters, retrieves, presents and reports data electronically; utilizes written and oral communication skills; and provides training and support to teachers of at-risk high school students. 
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Teacher Certification in one of the following Georgia certification areas: teaching, leadership, service (School Counseling, School Psychology, and/or School Social Work),  AND
• Must have at least three years’ experience working with secondary school age students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Possesses or eligible to obtain Georgia Teacher Certification in the area Hearing Impaired
• Experience teaching students with hearing impairments
• Willingness to learn American Sign language and obtaining proficiency at the “Advanced Level” as measured by the Sign Communication Proficiency Instrument if not already possessed
This is a 10-month position (200-days) paid on 12-month basis according to the Georgia Teacher Salary Schedule; salary based on teaching certification and creditable years of experience.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental, vision, and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers Retirement.
