Program/Unit:Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Division
Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, provides statewide leadership and coordination for CTAE programs in the following Career Clusters/Pathways:  Hospitality and Tourism – Culinary Arts Pathway; Human Services – Food & Nutrition Pathway, Housing & Community Management Pathway, Interiors, Fashion & Textiles I Pathway, Interiors, Fashion & Textiles II Pathway; Education and Training - Early Childhood Care & Education Pathway, and the Teaching as a Profession Pathway.  Duties include, but are not limited to, providing leadership and coordination in the development and administration of statewide programs; providing planning and consultative services to local schools; identifying professional development needs; developing appropriate training materials and methods in conjunction with other staff and agencies to address identified needs and ensure coordination of professional development activities;  assessing status of program implementation, documenting results, and recommending changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data; coordinating the development and implementation of the Georgia Performance Standards for the Career Clusters and Pathways; and working cooperatively with the Georgia Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Board of Directors, the Georgia FCCLA Executive Director, and the Georgia Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Science (GATFACS) Executive Board.
Note: The anticipated hiring date for this position is January 2, 2014.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education, education administration, family and consumer science, or a related field, and three years teaching experience in family and consumer science-related area.  Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification.  Note: Must submit a copy of GaPSC certification with resume and cover letter or with application. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Active involvement in professional organizations including GATFACS and Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education (GACTE).
• Experience with the Georgia FCCLA Executive Council and/or Georgia FCCLA Board of Directors
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Considerable knowledge of and experience with Family and Consumer Science at the local or state level
Salary/Benefits:
Pay grade 18 -- Annual salary range $47,280.21 (minimum) to $82,962.30 (maximum).  Starting salary dependent on current employment, training, experience, salary history, and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Teachers Retirement or Employees’ Retirement.
