Description of Duties:
Under general supervision, installs, configures, and supports a local area network, wide area network, Internet system or a segment of a network system and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability for School Nutrition. Additional duties include but are not limited to designing, configuring, and testing computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software; diagnosing  hardware and software problems, replacing defective components; escalating problems to vendor and/or developer for advanced debugging or software correction; evaluating of new technologies or solutions to improve service and efficiency of systems; monitoring network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made and future changes; operating  consoles to monitor performance of the computer systems and networks and to coordinate computer network access and use;  performing data backups and disaster recovery operations; performing routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records; planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware; preparing user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgrades. Note: This position is specifically for support of the School Nutrition Division.  It will include occasional travel within the state to provide technical assistance for meetings, conventions, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and one year of related experience OR Associate Degree or equivalent two-year certificate in a related field and three years of related experience OR Five years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications  possess one or more years of experience in one or more of the following: 
• Experience in supporting a 350 plus user Windows LAN
• Experience in supporting remote users
• Experience in setup and support of HP Proliant server hardware
• Experience in maintaining/supporting Lotus Notes/Outlook mail accounts
• Experience with telecommunications systems including inside wiring
• Working knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies
• Working knowledge of LANDesk Management Suite
• Working knowledge of Apple hardware on a Windows LAN
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
• Completion of technology certification programs
Pay Grade 17 – Annual salary range $43,063.23 (minimum) to $75,523.31 (maximum).  Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement. Hiring salary dependent on current employment, training and experience.
