Program/Unit:State Schools/Office of Policy and External Affairs
Description of Duties:Under general supervision, prepares and cooks or assists in the cooking of food in a state school cafeteria using specialized equipment. Prepares lunches for field trips, serves and distributes food. Cleans kitchen, kitchen equipment, and dining areas.
Minimum Qualifications:Six months of work experience as an assistant in preparing, cooking and serving food in a food service operation. Must be willing to learn sign language at the basic level.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in additional to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following: • Experience in a school-based or commercial food service program. • Experience in the proper use and care of food service utensils, machines and equipment. • Sign Language proficiency at the basic level, or higher.
Salary/Benefits:Pay grade 6 - Annual salary range $12,341.40 (minimum) to $19,710.44 (maximum). Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Employees’ Retirement.
