Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, provides leadership and support for communication and implementation of the English Language Arts (ELA) Georgia Standards of Excellence in accordance with the Georgia Department of Education's (GaDOE) strategic plan.  Duties include, but are not limited to communicating, developing resources, and coordinating professional learning for delivery of the ELA Georgia Standards of Excellence; evaluating and monitoring professional learning effectiveness; planning and providing services to schools and school systems; developing and fostering effective relationships with local school systems and other educational entities; reviewing, developing, and updating ELA web-based content, resources, and assessments in support of the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator’s certification; a Master’s degree in education, education administration experience, experience in fine arts or science or mathematics or engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in a professional capacity in K-12 English Language Arts curriculum instruction at the school, district, or state level, and evidence of success in the effective development and delivery of professional learning for a variety of stakeholders.   *Note: Must submit a copy of GaPSC certification with cover letter, resume and salary; applicants who fail to submit required GaPSC documentation will not be considered. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Experience as a secondary ELA instructional leader, such as an ELA Department Chair or ELA curriculum director, implementing 9-12 English Language Arts standards and curriculum
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Experience writing and/or managing grants
• Experience managing professional learning programs/activities
• Experience with implementation of Georgia Standards of Excellence in English Language Arts
• Strong computer and instructional technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Supervisory experience as a secondary ELA coach/instructional leader, secondary administrator either at the school or school district level or a Regional Educational Service Agency
Salary/Benefits:
Pay Grade N – Annual salary range is $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum).  **Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience; and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
