Description of Duties:
Under general supervision of the program manager and assigned area consultant(s), provides administrative support and technical assistance for School Nutrition staff.  Duties include, but are not limited to, providing technical support for users of the school nutrition On-Line Reporting System (ORS); actively participating as a member of staff team responsible for conducting the required federal reviews of local school districts; providing basic technical assistance to local school system personnel on the use of various computer software programs utilized by the School Nutrition Program; conducting simple research into program requirements and technical areas of program management for effective program management;  monitoring procedures required of school systems for the annual automated software used to approve schools for program participation, monitoring verification reporting, monitoring the filing of claims and financial reports, and monitoring edit check reports for claim accuracy; formatting, typing, and editing complex manuals and documents for publication; and performing special projects as assigned annually; supports the general office functions of other regional office staff as needed. This fast-paced, accountability-driven environment requires an organized, positive individual who is a team player and is comfortable multitasking and receiving direction from the program manager, the division director and the area consultants.  This position requires some in-state travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
A High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of progressively complex office or administrative experience related to the area of assignment.   Note: Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• An Associate’s degree in business administration or a related field; or two or more years of post-secondary education
• Experience in providing technical assistance to end users
• Experience with electronic database management
• Working knowledge of Department of Education School Nutrition Program, business processes, and specialized computer systems used to capture and report local system nutrition data.
• Full-time administrative support experience with Department of Education or comparable position with another state agency or local school district
Salary/Benefits:
Pay Grade E – Annual salary range is $20,472 (minimum) up to $34,803 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience; and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
