Description of Duties:
Under general supervision, analyzes, interprets, and develops budgetary data for the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing annual and/or operating budgets, budget revisions, and supporting schedules and documents; assisting the Program Manager with completion of budget requests; monitoring  budget by identifying surpluses, deficits, and solutions; preparing reports relating to preparation and submission of budgets, budget revisions, budget performance, etc.; enters budget amendments and runs queries/reports utilizing PeopleSoft Financials; interfacing with GaDOE Budget and Accounting staff to resolve issues.  Preparing and processing payments through PeopleSoft may be required.  In addition, attendance at monthly program planning meetings, bi-annual full-staff meetings, and other meetings as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, statistics, finance, economics, public administration, business administration or a related area from an accredited four-year college or university.  -OR- An Associate’s degree in accounting, statistics, finance, economics, public administration, business administration or a related field from an accredited university or college and two (2) years of fiscal analysis experience –OR- four (4) years of fiscal analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
• Experience with the State of Georgia budget process and associated timelines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills   
Pay grade J – Annual salary range $32,971 (minimum) to $57,699 (maximum).  Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience, salary history and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement (ERS) or Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS).
