Description of Duties:
Under general to limited supervision, coordinates and supports the development and implementation of statewide Title I Parent and Family Engagement initiatives to ensure compliance with the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015.  Duties include but are not limited to serving as the liaison between the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and agencies working to build the capacity of school staff and family members to improve student academic achievement and working across units and divisions to coordinate statewide family engagement activities; serving on a cross-functional monitoring team to review local educational agency (LEA) parent and family engagement compliance documentation; developing and implementing tools and guidance to assist LEAs with parent and family engagement compliance and strategies; providing technical assistance to local school system personnel; developing and conducting professional learning/staff development activities, meetings, and conferences; developing content for family engagement online and printed resources; developing and implementing family engagement communication initiatives; maintaining and applying current knowledge and professional expertise in family engagement strategies; and working collaboratively with the Family-School Partnership Program Manager on various projects and initiatives.  This position involves statewide travel and the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.  Note: This position is based in Atlanta at the Office location.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from and accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional level K-12 experience working with school staff and families. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) educator’s certification submitted with resume/application
• A Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university
• Working knowledge of parent and family engagement requirements of ESEA/ESSA as well as family engagement research and literature
• Experience developing and presenting professional development online and in-person trainings for large audiences
• Highly effective interpersonal and group communications skills
• Excellent technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office, desktop publishing, social media, online courses and webinars
• Experience in working with adult learners
• Experience in working with Title I federally-funded school districts and schools in Georgia
• Excellent written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills in coordinating statewide initiatives and events
• Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with school personnel, staff, parents, community-based organizations, and other support agencies
• Demonstrated competency in self-motivation/initiative
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
Salary/Benefits:
Pay grade L – Annual salary range $40,983 (minimum) up to $71,720 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
