Description of Duties:
Supports the State Director of Special Education, in a senior leadership capacity, to ensure general supervision for program implementation of various federal grants, projects and state initiatives that will ultimately improve results for students with disabilities.  Directs and supports goals and objectives for education programs and provides direct guidance for implementation strategies based on evidence based practices and implementation science.
• Assesses status of program implementation, documents result and recommends changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data.
• Provides effective staff development and technical assistance to support program efforts at the state, regional and local implementation levels.
• Supports the Division Director in making sound decisions that use data and demonstrate fiscal accountability.
• Executes program strategic planning and implementation/evaluation of performance measures that support the State Systemic Improvement Plan and other grants and initiatives.
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of other employees to include Education Program Managers, as directed, in accordance with Georgia Performance Management Process.
Note:  In state and out-of-state travel are required.  This position is based at Twin Towers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold or is eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) educator certification (L5). A Master’s degree in education, administration or a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of program management experience in an educational setting.  Note: Must submit required GaPSC certification documentation.  *Applicants who do not submit required GaPSC certification documentation with cover letter, resume and salary history or application will not be considered.    
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• A doctorate degree, in education, administration or a related field from an accredited college or university
• Depth of knowledge about implementation science and program evaluation
• Knowledgeable of performance management planning and project management processes
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience with multiple forms of technologies and media types
• Strong knowledge and skill in evidence-based instruction and interventions as documented via experience with Response to Intervention, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, or Student Support Teams.
Pay grade P – Annual salary range $66,821.60 (minimum) to $116,937.80 (maximum). *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
