Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision of the Chief Turnaround Officer, the Director provides project management, research and development support as well as coordinates partnerships and communication efforts specifically for the CTO division.  Duties include but are not limited to:
• Serving as the liaison between the Chief Turnaround Office, Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), and other agencies working to create a system of supports, resources, and partnerships.
• Engaging with key stakeholders such as business & industry representatives, legislators, local and state officials, Department of Labor, Department of Economic Development, Chamber of Commerce, Technical College System of Georgia, faith-based organizations, mental health and social agencies, non-profits, and the University System of Georgia to solicit their partnership to support targeted schools and districts.
• Designing and creating resources for local and state level educators and their stakeholders that can be used to strengthen education development efforts throughout Georgia.
• Working with the GaDOE Director of Communications to develop communication-related resources and tools to increase the visibility of Georgia’s turnaround focus.
• Working collaboratively with the External Affairs Office of the GaDOE
• Making presentations to various groups about the work being done related to turnaround.
• Serving as organizer for events focusing on partnerships, parent engagement, and broad community outreach.
• This position involves statewide travel and the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, communication or a related field and four (4) years of experience in diverse settings in a related field (e.g. business, government, higher education, etc.); -OR- Six (6) years of related experience (business, government, higher education, etc.) in diverse settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• A Masters’ degree or above in business or public administration, communication or a related field
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills to include creating and delivering presentations to various audiences.
• Experience working with business, industry, social agencies, and education partners.
• Experience in legislative processes and funding cycles.
• Excellent computer skills.
• A commitment to support the non-academic needs of students.
Pay grade N – Hiring salary ranges from $70,000 (minimum) up to $90,000 (maximum) and is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training, work experience, and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
