Description of Duties:
Under general supervision and in accordance with established divisional practices including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), performs professional auditing/accounting duties, such as preparation of financial statements and various financial and/or accounting reports, and providing information to auditors and other third parties.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to, researching, documenting and auditing accounting procedures and policies which integrate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Auditing Standards, statutory accounting and fiscal requirements applicable to local educational agencies; identifying improvements in the methods for recording, maintaining, and reporting financial and budgetary data of local education agencies; assistance with transparency reporting; assisting Accounting Manager with federal reporting requirements; providing professional guidance and assistance in the solution of complex accounting and financial issues affecting local educational agencies; providing ad-hoc research and analysis for management, as well as, providing analysis of key federal reporting data; analyzing accounting data and transactions to ensure accuracy, analyzing, recording, and interpreting financial transactions; preparing specialized and standard financial and/or accounting reports and providing information to internal and external third parties.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of related experience; -OR- a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related experience; - OR- five (5) years of related experience; -OR- one (1) year of experience as an Auditor 2. 
NoteApplicants must have good working knowledge of interpreting, creating and managing spreadsheet applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Experience working directly in a local education agency’s finance department.
• Experience in financial statement preparation
• Experience in governmental accounting and auditing
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
Pay grade K – Annual salary range $36,268 (minimum) to $63,469 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is based on current employment, relevant education/training, previous work experience, and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
