Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, manages the Mathematics Program which includes the supervision of Mathematics staff.  Duties and responsibilities include planning for and implementing the K-12 Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). This Mathematics Program Manager will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with state law, and State Board Rules for Mathematics GSE, and the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) vision, mission, and goals via the Strategic Plan.  Duties include aligning curriculum initiatives from different divisions and programs and developing and fostering effective relationships with DOE divisions, local school systems, Regional Educational Service Agencies, Mathematics Advisory Council members, and other education entities to encourage collaboration, effective communication, and implementation of program goals.  The Mathematics Program Manager will work with staff and the Mathematics Advisory Committee to plan, schedule, and organize Mathematics professional learning activities, which includes the GSE for teachers, school and district administrators, and staff from Regional Educational Service Agencies (RESAs); The Mathematics Program Manager will be responsible for working in collaboration with stakeholders to develop and refine Mathematics resources, including electronic and web-based resources; to analyze and utilize data and research; to develop and schedule web-based and face-to-face professional learning activities; to develop, interpret, and communicate program plans, guidelines for implementation, and benchmarks for success; to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of all formats for professional learning; planning and providing technical assistance and services to schools and school systems; to provide support for professional education staff activities; to align assigned budgets/funds from multiple sources to ensure maximum fiscal accountability and to avoid duplication of service; and to manage contracts for support services related to the planning, development, and implementation of the GSE and other Mathematics initiatives. 
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator’s certification; a Master’s degree K-12 education, K-12 educational administration, or a related field; and two (2) years of program management experience in online web-based resources and professional learning delivery models; and K-12 Mathematics at the school, district, or state level.  *Must submit a copy of GaPSC certificate/certification or GaPSC eligibility certificate/certification with cover letter, (application) resume and salary history; applicants who fail to submit required GaPSC documentation will not be considered. 
 
Note:  Knowledge of and experience with the Mathematics Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) is required. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Experience developing and providing professional learning both in electronic and face-to-face formats
• Experience in managing educational budgets
• Experience managing and accessing online resources
• Experience managing educational contracts and grants
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including social media formats for external communications 
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
Salary/Benefits:
Pay Grade N – Annual salary range is $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience; and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
