Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, provides supervision, leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of a statewide comprehensive K-12 career guidance and counseling program.  The comprehensive program will be designed to have an impact on student growth in three domain areas:  career development, academic development and social/emotional development.  The focus will be placed on career development with academic development and social/emotional development supporting the career development area.
Duties include, but are not limited to planning and directing administrative functions of the Career Guidance and Counseling Team; providing statewide technical assistance and professional learning focused on career development; taking the lead on the counselor companion, interest & aptitude assessments, implementation of seamless student transitions from k-12 to postsecondary & career opportunities, career pathways, career centers, and individual student graduation plans;  serving as a team member or leader for onsite compliance reviews and/or technical assistance site visits.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator’s certification; a Master’s degree in education, education administration, career and technical education or a related field and two (2) years of program management experience in a K-12 education setting.  *Must submit a copy of GaPSC certificate/certification or GaPSC eligibility certificate/certification with cover letter, (application) resume and salary history; applicants who fail to submit required GaPSC documentation will not be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Considerable knowledge of and experience in management of projects
• Excellent writing skills, verbal communications, and research experiences
• Ability to analyze and use data for decision making related to career guidance and counseling
• Previous successful experience as a K-12 classroom teacher
• Previous successful administrative experience in K-12 education
• Considerable knowledge of and experience with CTAE programs, students, and teachers
• Previous successful experience with implementing and maintaining a career center
• Specialist degree or higher in education
• Previous success providing professional development in school counseling
• Previous successful experience providing supervision for guidance programs and personnel
• Previous successful experience in the development and implementation of innovation guidance and counseling programs
Pay Grade N – Annual salary range is $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience; and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
