Description of Duties:
Under general supervision, uses independent judgment and initiative to perform a variety of clerical, office management, and advanced secretarial duties in support of management, staff, and/or operations for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program and the Student Support and the Academic Enrichment (Title IV, Part A) program.  This fast paced, active environment requires an organized individual who is comfortable multitasking and receiving direction from the Program Manager as well as tasks from the Program Specialists.  Duties include composing, editing, proofreading, copying, and distributing memorandum, correspondence, reports, and other materials; serving as communications link between the GaDOE programs and internal/external contacts; conducting comprehensive clerical research using a variety of resources to generate reports and respond to requests; completing tasks and assignments associated with administrative support functions in areas such as personnel, budget, bookkeeping, purchasing/procurement, and facilities management; establishing and maintaining filing and record-keeping systems and reference manuals/materials; scheduling and preparation of meetings and conferences; coordinating staff travel and lodging arrangements; monitoring and maintaining office supplies, equipment, and/or facilities; entering data from forms, records, and/or reports using a computer; processing invoices for payment; answering and redirecting phone calls in staff absence, maintaining logs, monitoring, and paying expenses for consultants and contractors.  Attend appropriate training related to duties and responsibilities as requested by the Program Manager as deemed appropriate.  Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
An Associate’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited college or university -OR- Two (2) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Documented experience in computer literacy, effective written and verbal communication skills and working as key support to multiple personnel in a busy office environment
• Three years of experience providing administrative/clerical support for a state government agency or a local school system 
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint), PeopleSoft Purchasing/Procurement, and FileMaker Pro
• Experience using the internet to research information
• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business administration or a related field
• Proven successful experience job sharing with other support staff
Pay Grade F – Annual Salary Range $22,520 (minimum) up to $38,283 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
