Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, applies professional expertise to activities and projects for Georgia’s student assessment programs with an emphasis on data analysis, data utilization, and measurement research.  Duties include, but are not limited to:
• managing and analyzing assessment data (using applications such as SPSS, Excel, R, and WINSTEPS);
• coordinating and evaluating program activities for the development and implementation of a large-scale state assessment program (including conducting research, interpreting data, communicating results, producing reports, conducting presentations, monitoring contracts, and developing, reviewing, and/or revising technical documentation);
• contributing to collaborative discussions and processes throughout various phases of an operational testing cycle (some examples include item and form development/evaluation, test administration, scaling, equating, scoring, and reporting);
• providing assistance to local school systems and Georgia Department of Education staff. 
Note:  Some travel will be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Testing/Assessment Specialist 1 - Master’s degree in educational measurement/research, education administration, psychology, or a related field and two (2) years professional work experience in large-scale assessment, curriculum and assessment alignment, educational research, and/or education program evaluation.
Testing/Assessment Specialist 2 - Master’s degree in educational measurement/research, education administration, psychology, or a related field and five (5) years professional work experience in large-scale assessment, curriculum and assessment alignment, educational research, and/or education program evaluation.
Note - Doctorate-level coursework in educational measurement/research, psychology, or a related field may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.  Position will be filled as Level 1 or 2 based on candidate’s qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Doctorate degree in measurement, research, or a related field
• Experience in educational research and measurement
• Experience with large-scale education assessments
• Experience with district or state-level test administration
• System or school experience in K-12 education
• Experience in contract management
Salary/Benefits:
Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
