Job Title:SPDG Communication and Visibility Specialist

Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, the grant communication and visibility specialist serves as a member of the SPDG team; working to develop, implement, and sustain a Georgia Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. The primary function of this position is to support communication and visibility of the new MTSS framework for districts, schools and stakeholders.  Duties will include participating on the SPDG state leadership team and implementation team with planning and aligning the work scope for coaching, training, implementation, and monitoring activities throughout the project.  Working closely with the MTSS Project Director to manage project activities, milestones, and timelines, and sharing progress towards project goals.  Note:  Statewide travel will be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of communications experience OR six (6) years of communications or related experience; OR one (1) year of experience as a Communications Specialist 3 in Georgia State government.   Note:  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong computer skills.  Must be able to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced office environment with competing priorities and deadlines.     
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Knowledge and skill in RTI, PBIS, SST, evidence-based instruction and interventions, as well as supporting districts with equitable discipline practices
• The ability to manage multiple, overlapping high priority tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated success in team building and the continuous improvement processes
• Highly effective interpersonal, group, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic, self-directed, and self-motivated  
Pay grade L – Annual salary range $40,983 (minimum) to $71,720 (maximum). *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
