Description of Duties:Advises local education agencies in the development and implementation of grant applications, proposals, budgets, and program plans; • Approves grant applications and agreements • Monitors compliance and progress of grant recipients’ program through off-site and on-site evaluations and reviews of plans and reports • Interprets state and federal laws, regulations, instructions and policies for local education authorities and/or sponsoring agencies • Serves as team-lead on various projects, including procurement and procurement reviews, and second-party review • Assumes primary responsibility as contact for assigned foodservice purchasing and management training, nutrition and nutrition education • Provides ongoing advice and/or coordination to local school systems and/or program providers in comprehensive program planning • Collaborates with local customers and local, state, and federal agencies and organizations to utilize available resources for increasing the nutrition services provided for students • Serves as liaison to local and state agencies and allied organizations in the area of procurement, nutrition, nutrition education, and the provision of nutrition services, including collaborating with parent groups on nutrition projects and programs • Designs and implements program evaluation procedures responsible for website content maintenance • Provides resources and strategies for success to local school nutrition directors and staff • Analyzes technical data to help monitor the programs • Evaluates programs using required data and tools to verify compliance • Maintains ongoing, regular, open communications with local system staff • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned • State-wide travel required. • This position is eligible for participation in the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) Telework program. Candidates for this position must comply with the GaDOE Telework Policy.
Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • Possession of the Georgia School Nutrition Director Certification by the Professional Standards Commission • Professional licensure/registration in nutrition and dietetics • Experience in developing and administering foodservice contracts and Invitation for Bids (IFB), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Quotes (RFQ), and in procuring foods, supplies, equipment, services, etc. • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Experience in planning and conducting training • Experience in interpreting state/federal laws
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade L – Annual salary range $40,983.00 (minimum) to $71,720.00 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Teachers Retirement or Employees’ Retirement.
