Description of Duties:Under general to limited supervision, assists in the administration of the McKinney-Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program statewide in accordance with federal regulations, policies, guidance, and instruction, as well as State Board of Education policy and rules. Duties include, but are not limited to: Monitoring the progress of program implementation, evaluating results, and recommending changes and improvements. • Providing technical assistance in the development of programs and the Consolidated Applications for Homeless Education funding • Participating on cross-functional monitoring teams and preparing accurate reports, position papers, memoranda, guidelines, or other documents related to areas of responsibility that communicate information clearly and adequately. • Regional and statewide travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, finance or related areas from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience in grants management, public funds administration, accounting or a closely related area OR One year of experience required at the lower level Grants Spec 3 or position equivalent Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • Organizational skills that ensure work is accurate and timely • Expertise in Microsoft Access • Experience with federal grants • Expertise in developing and filing required reports to federal agencies • Ability to work effectively with a variety of agencies and individuals
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade M – Annual salary range $46,310.72 (minimum) to $81,043.76 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Teachers Retirement or Employees’ Retirement.
