 Family Engagement Partner Meetings

2018-2019 Regional Network Meetings

Exchange ideas about family and community engagement with other school systems in Georgia by participating in an optional Regional Network Meeting. Each meeting will be held 9:00 am-3:00 pm and the content will be the same at each meeting. Please choose one meeting to attend, whether it's the closest to you or on a convenient date. Due to limited space, if there are more than 100 registrants, the Family-School Partnership Program will start a waitlist for the meeting. There is no registration fee; however, travel expenses and meals are the responsibility of the participant.

This year, the Regional Network Meetings will feature a new, special round of small group discussions called “Show and Tell.”  Participants are encouraged to capture the moment by “showing” off any object (or representation) of a successful Parent and Family Engagement resource and “telling” of its impact for engaging their parents and family members / school staff. For example, a participant may want to bring a handbook used for distributing Title I documents and other useful information to families, a reading book representing a themed Building Parent Capacity Literary Event, a display of an online resource used for developing a Building Staff Capacity Training Module, a translation tool / meeting flyer used to invite parents of English Learners to workshops, etc. The goal is to share innovate ideas and best practices to increase student academic achievement and promote active participation. To assist the meeting organizers, please indicate your "Show and Tell" item or topic when you register. To upload your "Show and Tell" item, click on the Materials Link under your regional meeting. Please note that the GaDOE does not review nor endorse the documents uploaded by participants. The purpose is to provide access to sharing and networking between school systems.
