2009 Winter CTAE Leadership Conference and Perkins Strategic Planning
February 8 – 10, 2009, Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain
Winter Conference Overview
Designed to help local Career, Technical and Agricultural Directors and Supervisors, the 2009 Winter CTAE Leadership Conference focused on connecting workforce, education, and economics together to help our current students become tomorrow’s workforce leaders. This focused initiative aligned with the need to provide leadership and guidance in following the components of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. The purpose of Perkins is to provide individuals with the academic and technical skills needed to succeed in a knowledge- and skills-based economy. Perkins supports career and technical education that prepares its students both for secondary and postsecondary education and the careers of their choice. Federal resources help ensure that career and technical programs are academically rigorous and up-to-date with the needs of business and industry.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the Harris County JROTC Color Guard for the Presentation of Colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Darby Brinker, FBLA North Metro Vice President, for bringing greetings to our conference.
