Proposed Rulemakings

Proposed rulemakings are rules that are being considered for adoption by the State Board of Education. Prior to adoption rules must be formally initiated and submitted for a public review period of at least 30 calendar days.

Individuals with disabilities who need accommodations in order to participate in the hearing should contact Ms. Nancy O'Hara at (404) 657-9963, at least two business days prior to the hearing, to make known their accommodation needs.

As required by O.C.G.A. § 50-13-4, I am notifying you that the State Board of Education proposes to repeal Rule 160-5-1-.02 School Day for Students and adopt in it's place new Rule 160-5-1.02 School Day and School Year for Students and Employees. Copies of the synopsis and rule are attached.
