Accountability
The Accountability team serves to improve communication between all Georgia public schools and other stakeholders regarding the federal and state education accountability initiatives. They also publish the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports for all public school districts and schools as required by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.

Each school system has a dedicated Accountability Specialist to serve as a liaison between the Local Education Agency (LEA) and the State Education Agency (SEA) to provide support for all areas of AYP including, but not limited to interpretation of the reports and the associated rewards and consequences. The Accountability Specialists also assist schools in the understanding of Georgia’s Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS).
