The purpose of this site is to provide our school leaders, policymakers and the public with the information they need about the federal stimulus funds going to K-12 education in Georgia. As a state, we are committed to using these funds effectively and in full accordance with federal laws and regulations. We are also committed to being transparent with the public about how the money is being spent. The boxes on the right provide information on the stimulus funds in three categories:

DISTRICT RESOURCES: All the guidance, forms and information that local school districts need in order to receive, spend and report the usage of ARRA funds from the Georgia Department of Education.

COMMUNICATIONS: Information the Georgia Department of Education receives from the U.S. Department of Education, the Governor’s office and other external agencies or groups.

TRANSPARENCY: Reports about the expenditure of ARRA funds at the federal, state and school district level.

Georgia will receive a total of about $2 billion in stimulus funds for education at all levels. Georgia’s K-12 public schools will receive the vast majority of that money. This chart shows the major funding areas.
