Kathy Cox was elected as Georgia’s State Superintendent of Schools in November 2002 and was overwhelmingly re-elected in November 2006. Since taking office, Superintendent Cox has overseen sweeping reforms in Georgia’s public education system with a singular mission: “We will lead the nation in improving student achievement.” Superintendent Cox was a public school teacher for 15 years and believes in the power of great educators, engaged students, high expectations and strong parental involvement."
