Input Sought on Career & Technical Education

MEDIA CONTACT: GaDOE Communications office, (404) 463-1487, dtofig@gadoe.org   January 25, 2008 -- The Georgia Department of Education is seeking public comment on its five-year state plan for Career and Technical Education.   The plan is required under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act, which was signed into law in August 2006. The purpose of the law is to help fully develop the academic, career and technical skills of students in secondary and post-secondary institutions and prepare them for high-skill, high wage and/or high-demand jobs.    A draft version of Georgia’s Five-Year Plan will be available on the GaDOE’s website on Feb. 15, 2008.
