Job Title:Accountability Specialist

Program/Unit:Office of Assessment & Accountability
Description of Duties:Under limited supervision, applies professional expertise to produce and support Georgia’s accountability systems, including the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Reviewing, developing, and maintaining requirements for accountability reporting
• Collaborating with IT developers to ensure that reporting requirements and business rules are accurately implemented
• Validating data for accuracy and completeness using systematic processes
• Developing and maintaining accountability documentation (such as business requirements, user guides, and calculation guides)
• Developing, managing, and analyzing large data sets using applications such as R, SQL, SPSS, and Excel
• Supporting schools, LEAs, and other stakeholders in understanding and interpreting CCRPI reports, data, and calculations
• Interpreting data and communicating results
• Conducting research and preparing reports
• Conducting presentations
• Collaborating with multiple stakeholders and divisions within and outside of the Georgia Department of Education
Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification, possess one or more of the following:
• Master’s degree in education, policy, psychology, research/measurement, statistics, or a related field and at least three (3) years of professional experience in K-12 education or a related field (such as accountability or assessment, curriculum and instruction, educational research, education program evaluation)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer and coding skills (proficiency in SPSS, SQL, and/or other statistical software)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Understanding of state assessment and accountability initiatives, including the College and Career Ready Performance Index and the state report card
• Knowledge of state and federal accountability laws, regulations, and guidance, including the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
• Experience with district or state-level accountability, test administration, evaluation, or research and data analysis
• K-12 educational experience at the district or state level
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade N – Annual salary range $52,331.00 (minimum) to $91,579.00 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
