Job Title:Title II, Part A Specialist

Description of Duties:Under general supervision, serves as the primary point of contact for providing and/or coordinating technical assistance and support services to local school systems on comprehensive program planning/implementation and staff development for the Title II, Part A Supporting Effective Instruction federal formula grant authorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Collaboration within the Georgia Department of Education and with external organizations that target improving teacher and leader quality through the use of Title II, Part A funds ensuring quality teachers in every classroom and high-quality principals in every school
• Supporting LEAs in their efforts to provide professional learning to teachers and school leaders and recruit and retain high quality teachers and principals
• Reviewing and implementing applicable federal and state laws, regulations and guidance
• Developing state overarching and program specific guidance documents and implementing provisions outlined in this guidance relative to Title II, Part A
• Providing technical assistance to LEAs for the development and implementation of Consolidated LEA Improvement Plans (CLIP) and Title II, Part A Program Budgets
• Monitoring state and district program implementation, documentation of results and assistance in corrective action
• Facilitating effective internal and external communication
• Maintenance of current knowledge and professional expertise and application of this expertise to the performance of program job responsibilities
• Use of current and widely accepted management principles to maximize human, financial, and technical resources and adherence to state and department rules, regulations and procedures related to personnel
• Creation and maintenance of a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation
• Attending monthly team meetings and internal, state and national meetings, trainings and conferences as assigned

Please note: This position involves extensive statewide travel.
Minimum Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience. Submit a copy of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator certification with resume and cover letter or with application. Applicants who fail to submit the required documentation will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Education Specialist or higher degree
• Strong knowledge base of best practices related to Title II, Part A and Federal Programs Implementation
• Experience in data analysis and the organization and implementation of major school initiatives
• Experience in working with adult learners
• Knowledge of state and federal guidelines, specifically the Every Student Succeeds Act
Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade N – Annual salary ranges from $52,331.00 (minimum) to $91,579.00 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
