Program/Unit:Assessment and Accountability
Description of Duties:Under limited supervision, applies professional expertise to activities and projects for Georgia’s student assessment programs, including support for district and charter schools in managing test security and appropriate administration protocols to ensure a sound and reliable state assessment. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Collaboration with assessment teams to develop and deliver test security and test administration training primarily through web-based presentation and learning applications
• Management and monitoring of workflow related to review, revision, and writing of all test administration manuals and guides
• Assists with the review of the Student Assessment Handbook and all other guidance documentation supporting test administration
• Collaboration with the assessment development team in standing and ad hoc committees regarding test development activities and evaluation of assessment programs
• Provides assistance to local school systems and state charter schools in monitoring assessment administration practices and protocols, identifying local testing irregularities, and monitoring appropriate testing accommodations for special populations of students
• Provides technical assistance to local school systems and state charter schools specific to the administration of state assessments in online platforms to ensure test security and support a sound and reliable assessment result
• Assists and collaborates with other testing programs and assessment specialists within the department
Note: Doctorate-level coursework in educational measurement/research, psychology, or a related field may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis

Position will be filled as Level 1 or 2 based on candidate’s qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND L5 certification AND One year of experience in a supervisory/administrative capacity in an educational and/or vocational training program OR Two years of experience required at the lower level Instructor 3 (EDP022) or position equivalent AND L-5 certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Master’s degree in education, educational administration, curriculum and instruction, educational measurement/research, psychology, or a related field and five years professional work experience in large-scale assessment, curriculum development and implementation and/or education program evaluation
• Excellent oral and written communications skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office
• System or school experience in K-12 education
• Experience with district and/or state-level test administration
• Experience with district and/or state-level online test administration
• System or school experience with assessment of special populations
• System or school experience with students with disabilities
• Experience in contract management
• Knowledge in educational research
• Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator certification
Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade N – Annual salary range is $80,000 (minimum) to $85,000 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
