Description of Duties:

Under limited supervision, provides statewide leadership and coordination for instructional programs in the following career clusters:  Marketing, Hospitality and Tourism. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Providing leadership and coordination in the development and administration of statewide career cluster programs

·         Providing planning and consultative services to local schools

·         Identifying professional development needs; developing appropriate training materials and methods in conjunction with other staff and agencies to address identified needs and ensure coordination of professional development activities

·         Creating and managing a statewide advisory committee comprised of stakeholders representing the entire state

·         Assessing the status of program implementation, documenting results, and recommending changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data

·         Coordinating the development of the Georgia Performance Standards curriculum development and implementation; maintaining a network of business and industry partnerships with secondary and postsecondary educators

·         Working cooperatively with the Georgia DECA Board of Directors, the Georgia DECA Executive Director, the Georgia Marketing Education Association (GMEA) Executive Board, the American Marketing Association (AMA); and collaborating with all stakeholders to provide guidance and support to local school systems

 

Submit a copy of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator certification.  Applicants who fail to submit the required documentation will not be considered.
Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

·         Master’s degree in education, education administration, business education or a related field, and three (3) years teaching experience in marketing education

·         Active involvement in professional organizations including Georgia Marketing Education Association (GMEA) and Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education (GACTE)

·         Experience with the Georgia DECA Executive Council and/or Georgia DECA Board of Directors

·         Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Considerable knowledge of and experience with content related to the assigned clusters

Salary/Benefits:

Pay Grade L – annual salary range is $40,982.94 (minimum) to $71,720.15 (maximum).

Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience.

Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
