Description of Duties:

Under broad supervision, develops policy and research initiatives that support health and well-being of students. Identifies issues and alternatives, assesses the funding strategies, documents and presents findings. Coordinates activities with stakeholders and makes presentations to groups.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Provides technical assistance focusing on providing a connection between education, health, and wellness

·         Strategic alignment to school nutrition to coordinate local school wellness plans

·         Coordinate efforts with strategic partners surrounding wellness initiatives; coordinates with various divisions within GaDOE including the Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment program

·         Assists with coordination and facilitation of community education convenings and training both online and in person

·         Identifies local sponsors and partners to support community-based health and wellness programs

·         Assists in the evaluation and monitoring of a statewide school health model to ensure effective implementation

·         Facilitates coordinated student health and wellness efforts aligned to a state-adopted framework

Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with coordinating multiple partners for project implementation

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with, build collaboration and partnership with school administrators and educators, school health staff, principals, local leaders and non-profit executives

·         Ability to lead, work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, paying close attention to detail on many varied tasks; to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions

·         Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·         Strong computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to quickly learn new software programs and online platforms

Essential Job Functions:
Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade M – Annual salary range is $46,310.72 (minimum) to $81,043.76 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
