Description of Duties:

Under broad supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance or construction of state buildings and related structures. Installs and maintenances security, climate control and other facilities systems.  Regularly performs preventative maintenance duties. 

NOTE: This position may require 24 hour on-call availability
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED AND Three years of experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment OR Two years of experience at the lower level General Trades Tech 2 (FET031) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require area specific certifications/licenses.
Preferred Qualifications:

·         3+ years commercial HVAC experience

·         Associate degree, HVAC trade school certification or 5 years commercial HVAC experience

·         EPA HVAC Certification

·         Certification in Electrical Work

·         Experience cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems

·         Experience troubleshooting defective HVAC systems and equipment to make diagnosis

·         Experience performing preventative and routine maintenance on HVAC systems

·         Proficient electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills

·         Proficient in reading schematics and work plans

·         Physically agile, dexterous, and able to work in confined spaces


Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade G: Annual Salary range $24,771.59 (minimum) to $43,350.29 (maximum). This is a 12-month position and is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training, previous work experience and available funding. Benefit options include life, disability, dental, vision, health insurance; annual and sick leave and Employees Retirement System of Georgia.
