Description of Duties:Under direct supervision assists instructor/teacher with providing education and/or training to students. Prepares instructional materials and maintains order and cleanliness in the learning environment.  Plans and conducts child development activities.  Monitors and supervises various classroom functions.  
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED AND combination of training and experience which would enable the applicant to obtain the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist instructor/teacher with providing instruction to students.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

·         Paraprofessional Certification from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, or able to obtain

·         Experience as a paraprofessional

·         Experience working with visually impaired, blind, hard of hearing, deaf, deaf-blind, or multi-disabled students

·         Knowledge and/or basic skills in Braille

·         Knowledge of assistive technology devices

·         EBD or ABA certification or experience working with EBD students

Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade C  – Annual salary range: $16,919.33 (minimum) to $27,916.90 (maximum). This is a 10-month position paid on a 12-month basis.  Salary will be based on the number of days worked.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance; annual/sick leave; and Employees’ Retirement.
