Job Title:Education Program Specialist –School Climate Transformation Grant (SCTG) Research and Evaluation Specialist

Description of Duties:

The grant research and evaluation specialist, as a member of the SCTG team, will work to develop, implement, evaluate, and sustain the Georgia Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) framework.  The primary function of this position is to support research and evaluation of the SCTG and the PBIS framework.  This specialist will work directly with the PBIS Program Manager. 

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

·         Developing new tools to assess implementation of the SCTG and PBIS, validate and analyze strategic data for accuracy and completeness and refines into format for specific individual responses or summary reports

·         Identifies and explains patterns and relationships related to changes, trends, or circumstances not readily evident from the data

·         This position will support communication and implementation for the SCTG by providing data analyses and reports that explain, interpret, and synthesize project data in a manner that will support Georgia Department of Education leaders in making decisions about the development and implementation of PBIS

·        Works closely and collaborates with school and community leaders, staff from other departments, parents, external partners, and stakeholders

·         Writes reports and makes presentations related to critical district evaluation data

·         Represents the Department of Education on various internal and external committees, task forces, and professional organizations

·         Participates in professional development as required

·         Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator

Note: Statewide travel will be required

Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university that included coursework in research and evaluation techniques AND Two years of related experience that included the application of strong research competencies, advanced level methodological research and statistical analysis OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university that included coursework in research and evaluation techniques AND Four years of related experience that included the application of strong research competencies, advanced level methodological research, statistical analysis AND Two years of experience having supervision over such research staff.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

·         A Master’s degree in education policy, statistics, or a related field

·         Experience conducting, managing/coordinating data collection and data analysis, and/or conducting comprehensive research and preparing reports for a school, school system, Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA), federal agency, state education agency, or other state agency level

·         Must have experience working with data analysis and interpretation using a variety of software solutions (Excel, SPSS, SAS, STATA, etc.)

·         A doctorate degree or education specialist degree in School Psychology with a specialization in program evaluation, educational leadership or a related field

·         Excellent skills in data visualization and interpretation and report writing and presentations  

·         Advanced knowledge of Tableau, Microsoft SQL, STATA, or equivalent 

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Knowledge of research and evaluation methodologies, and data systems including enterprise data warehouses and student information systems

·         Strong knowledge base of best practices in educational statistical analysis and reporting

·          Experience with reporting Federal data using Federal data reporting platforms 

Salary/Benefits: Pay grade N – Annual salary range:  $52,331 (minimum) to $91,579 (maximum).  Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training, work experience and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
