Description of Duties:
Under limited supervision, communicates verbally and in writing, provides leadership and strategic direction for the development and improvement of statewide agriculture education programs.   Duties include developing goals, policies, and rules to support continuous improvement of programs; conducting long-range planning and implementation of local plans for improvement; planning and directing the administrative function of the program; serving as State Advisor to the Georgia FFA Organization; providing direction and accountability for high school grant programs such as Young Farmers, Short-term Adult programs, Food Systems technology, youth camps, extended day and year, and industry certification; and supervising statewide professional education staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have or be eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator’s certification; a Master’s degree in career/technical or vocational education, education administration, agriculture education or a closely related field and five (5) years of administration/supervisory experience in agriculture education.  *Must submit a copy of GaPSC certificate/certification or GaPSC eligibility certificate/certification with cover letter, (application) resume and salary history; applicants who fail to submit required GaPSC documentation will not be considered. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Experience managing multiple contracts and large budgets
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) 
• Excellent presentation skills
• Doctorate degree in vocational education, education administration, or a closely related field.
Salary/Benefits:
Pay Grade N – Annual salary ranges from $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience; and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
