Job Title:Business Operation Specialist (GAVS)

Description of Duties:
Performs complex duties in the areas of budget, finance, operations research, program management, policy development, project management, or consultation for Georgia Virtual School (GAVS) administration.  Duties include but are not limited to:
-Serves as front line support for GAVS office.
-Coordinates purchasing and/or contract activities.
-Initiates and coordinates forms related to establish Human Resources on-boarding processes.
-Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for GAVS.
-Maintains or supervises the maintenance of files and records.
-Drafts or interprets policy and program regulation or guidelines for operation.
-Monitors effectiveness of business operations, assesses quality of service and makes recommendations for improvement.
-Identifies training needs regarding assigned functional areas and/or programs, providing guidance and training to internal and external customers.
-Manages the review, sort and delivery of all incoming mail and packages for business operations.
-Manages the GAVS budget and/or related finance programs.
-Assists managers and/or supervisors in performance management responsibilities and projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the management of administrative support activities of a business or government entity.  Note:  Related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following:
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, P-Card and Concur
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Exemplary customer service experience.
Pay grade J Annual salary range $32,971 (minimum) up to $57,699 (maximum).  Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience. . Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
