 Teacher Advisory Council

The State School Superintendent's Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) is comprised of teachers from across the state, representing all grade bands and RESA regions. Georgia Teacher of the Year finalists and teachers nominated due to their outstanding educational service qualities, ability to articulate teacher issues, and engagement in positive problem-solving collaborative discussions, act as liaisons between the Department of Education and the teachers of Georgia. The advisory meets with the State School Superintendent two times throughout the school year to discuss how decisions made at the state level affect teachers in Georgia’s classrooms.

Mission: To collectively review educational policy and practices to identify common issues across the state, and through our collective work, propose potential solutions and key points of consideration to report to the Superintendent and his staff.

Vision:  To make a positive impact on education across the state of Georgia for all stakeholders.
