The EL Screener application allows
Georgia districts to enter English language proficiency screener scores for
students in Grades K–12, and determine whether those students qualify for ESOL
services. The EL Screener application was developed at the request of and
in collaboration with ESOL staff in various Georgia districts to assist with
the identification of students as English learners as they move from one school
or district to another.
There are two levels of access for the EL Screener
application: Submitter and Approver. To
obtain the appropriate level of access, user roles must be assigned by the
district SIS Coordinator within the SLDS Profile Manager:
Submitter (EL Teacher role)
·
Can add, view, and submit a form.
·
Can edit and delete an “In-Progress” form.
·
Can NOT edit or delete a “Submitted” form.
·
Can NOT add a new form for a student who already
has a form with the status “In-Progress” or “Submitted”.
·
Can NOT edit or delete a form with the status “Screened”,
but can create a new form for that student.
Approver (District and School level roles)
·
Can add, view, edit, delete, and submit a form.
·
Can edit and delete an “In-Progress” or “Submitted”
form.
·
Can mark a form as “ESOL Eligible/Not Eligible”.
·
Can add a new form for a student who already has
a form with the status “In-Progress” or “Submitted”.
·
Can NOT edit or delete a form with the status “Screened”,
but can create a new form for that student.
