May is Teacher Appreciation Month – thank you, Georgia teachers!

In Georgia, the month of May is recognized as Teacher Appreciation Month in honor of the world-class educators serving students in our K-12 public schools. This month is a time to recognize, celebrate, and lift up the teachers who give so much of themselves to prepare all Georgia students for life.

This year, we are asking Georgians to team up with us and celebrate the powerful impact of teachers. Join us by recording a “Because of a teacher, I am a ______” video to express your gratitude! Click here to submit – the first videos will go live soon! If you have any questions, please direct them to social@doe.k12.ga.us.

We’d also love to see and share your community’s Teacher Appreciation Month celebrations – share with #thankyouGAteachers24. Thank you for joining us to celebrate our state’s outstanding educators!
