Job Title:Auditor 2 (School Nutrition)

Program/Unit:Finance and Budget Unit/School Nutrition Division/Office of Finance and Business Operations
Description of Duties:
Under general to limited supervision, performs professional, advanced-level, financial-related, performance-related audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards. Duties include developing and maintaining an effective system to track the monitoring function for various federal school nutrition programs; reviewing monitoring plans for federal school nutrition programs for compliance with current federal laws and regulations; maintaining system access control to allow only authorized user access to monitoring reports; providing information updates and status reports to the School Nutrition Director and the Financial Review Director; reviewing operational/program manuals for compliance with federal laws and regulations; assisting School Nutrition Director, Financial Review Director, and/or School Nutrition Program Managers with federal and state audit requirements; conducting financial and record-keeping training and communicating any updates of fiscal management policies; and performing internal audits on federal programs as directed by the School Nutrition Director or School Nutrition Program Manager.  Note: Some statewide travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field which included two basic and two intermediate or advanced accounting courses and two years of professional auditing or accounting experience or one year of relatively complex and independent experience at a level equivalent to auditor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Strong people skills and exemplary attendance
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
• Two or more years of professional-level experience with governmental accounting
• Experience preparing detailed accounting and budget reports
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) certification
Salary/Benefits:
Pay grade 15 – Annual salary range $35,569.36 (minimum) to $62,301.82 (maximum).  Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training, work experience, and available funding.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
