June 23, 2015 – Parents and students should be aware that free, nutritious meals for students are available all summer at locations across Georgia.

The meals are available to all children and teens aged 18 or younger. Many locations offer both breakfast and lunch. It’s easy to find a location near you:

·         Use this interactive map

·         Or, dial 211 or call the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGRY

“Often, students rely on the meals they’re served during the school day – then summer begins, and those meals are gone,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said. “It’s unacceptable to us for any child to go hungry. These locations are a great resource for parents and students – and they do more than provide food. They’re helping students grow, physically and academically.”
