Description of Duties:Under general supervision, installs, configures, and supports a local area network, wide area network, Internet system, computers, desktops, and/or mobile devices. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Performs necessary maintenance to support network availability
• Diagnoses hardware and software problems, replaces defective components for both personal computing and printing devices
• Escalates problems to vender and/or developer for advanced debugging or software corrections, including warranty repairs of computer hardware
• Evaluates new technologies or solutions to improve services and efficiency of systems
• Images computer hardware and moves user data
• Prepares user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgrades
VERY IMPORTANT:
Applicants will be required to obtain an American Sign Language Proficiency Instrument (ASLPI) rating of 2 or above within three years from date of hire.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR Five years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Systems Administrator 1 (ITP040) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications possess one or more years of experience in one or more of the following:
• Experience in supporting 250 plus users in a Windows networking environment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
• Working knowledge of Apple hardware on a Windows LAN
• Experience with network wiring
• Experience in supporting Outlook/Office365 mail accounts
• Experience using and supporting Office365 applications
• Experience using Canvas learning management system
• Experience using helpdesk ticketing applications
• Experience with Lenovo personal computing systems
• Experience with Ricoh and Xerox printing/multifunction systems
• Completion of technology certification programs
• Experience with Extreme Networks network switches
• Experience with Xirrus wireless arrays
• Experience with American Sign Language (ASL)
Salary/Benefits: Fulltime, 12-month position, Pay Grade M – Annual salary range $46,310.72 (minimum) to $81,043.76 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
