Description of Duties:

In collaboration with other divisions and departments at the Georgia Department of Education, the Area Program Assessment Specialist (APAS) communicates verbally and in writing, provides school improvement services to identified districts and schools.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Coordinate the schedule and conduct monitoring and reviews for assigned schools and districts

·         Compile and develop accurate written reports for school and system leadership to share results from monitoring and/or reviews and provide feedback and suggestions for improvement

·         Provide accurate summary reports to school leadership, system leadership, and other appropriate stakeholders

·         Conduct internal and external program evaluation

·         Provide professional development to include comprehensive needs assessment process, data and root cause analysis, strategic planning process and program evaluation

·         Maintain records (electronic and hard copy) of services provided to assigned school(s) using formats required by the Division of School and District Effectiveness

·         Attend GaDOE meetings/activities and fulfill other GaDOE responsibilities as required and/or as assigned

Submit a copy of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator certification.  Applicants who fail to submit the required documentation will not be considered.

Note:  State travel is required 

Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience.

Salary/Benefits: Pay grade N – Annual salary range is $52,331.12 (minimum) to $91,579.45 (maximum).  *Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience.  Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
