|Description of Duties:||
Under limited supervision
and according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), performs
professional accounting duties, such as recording financial transactions,
preparing accounting reports, and providing information to auditors and other
but are not limited to:
- Managing the
recording, maintenance, reporting, and control of agency general ledger
accounts, specifically Accounts Payable, Payroll (salaries, benefits,
withholdings), and Travel accounts
- Preparing and
reviewing general ledger/accounts payable adjustments
- Recommending and
implementing departmental accounting policies and procedures in accordance
with statutory and professionally accepted standards
- Interacting with
agency administrators and staff, professional accountants, and auditors on
AP Accounting related matters
- Performing operational analyses (reconciliations) of accounting
systems and subsystems to ensure accuracy of data, to ensure compliance
with GAAP, and to identify
improvements in the methods for recording, maintaining, and reporting
- Managing and completing
other projects and assignments as requested by management
- Managing staff effectively on a daily basis
|Minimum Qualifications:||Bachelor's degree in
business administration, accounting, finance or a closely related field from an
accredited college or university AND Three years of professional level
experience in accounting and/or a closely related fiscal activity, One year of
which in a supervisory, administrative or lead worker role. Note: An equivalent
combination of education and job specific experience that provided the
knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job
at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to
meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
or Bachelor’s degree in accounting
in governmental accounting, preferably with a state agency
utilizing TeamWorks Accounting modules (AP module)
computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
Strong organizational skills
|Essential Job Functions:
|Pay grade M – Annual salary range is $46,310.72 (minimum) to $81,043.76
(maximum). *Hiring salary is
commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work
experience. Benefit options
