School Counseling and Career Readiness Team Overview

Program Overview

Today's school counselors are vital members of the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, social/emotional and career development.

They play an integral role in improving students’ ability to develop skills to apply knowledge, to develop and maintain relationships, and to demonstrate successful work behaviors. The school counselor is uniquely qualified to advocate for students and to assist students in developing self-advocacy skills. The delivery of a comprehensive school counseling program led by the guiding principles of leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and systematic change supports student success and fosters a healthy schoolwide climate that promotes equity and access to rigorous educational opportunities for all students.
